Guided Implantology

Guided Implantology

With the advancement of three-dimensional radiological imaging, computer technology, and CAD/CAM software, there has been progress in dental implantology and the development of "guided implantology." The exact position of implants can be digitally planned, and this position can be transferred to the actual clinical situation using surgical guides.

  • Since the implant position is precisely determined using a guide, there is no need for extensive soft tissue flapping and bone exposure. This reduces postoperative pain and swelling. The guided template is created in close collaboration between the dentist and dental technician.

After the surgeon determines the implant's position using CBCT, the dental technician can begin crafting the guide and planning the prosthetic replacement. This process minimizes the time the patient remains toothless, allowing them to achieve their smile even faster.

Guided surgery of this nature enables the placement of implants in areas with the highest bone quality, far from vital structures, and in an ideal position concerning the future prosthetic replacement. The result is optimal function and aesthetics. This concept is predictable, minimally invasive, and reduces the overall procedure time.
